The connector fit in a small box that bolted to the FT-154 shockmount,
and held the connector in the proper upright position to mate with the
connector on the receiver.

You can go to the BC-348 manual at

and see if the arrangement is shown there.

Unfortunately, the manuals there are in html format, which is absolutely
horrible compared to a true image of a manual in pdf format.  Because of
this, many important figures don't show up in these html versions of
manuals.
