Hello Barry,

The prices vary greatly for these tuning units.

For example, I have seen the TU6B (with covers the 80m
band) go for $105.00 on ebay and then 6 months later I
bought the same unit for $10.00 on ebay.

Realistically, if we disregard the extremes I think
fair prices are between $25.00 and $50.00 each for
used complete units with the CS-48 case.

Prices depend on the following:
1) If it is missing the CS-48 case remove $10.00.
2) The units that cover ham bands like the TU5B
(160m), TU6B (80m), TU8B (40m) and the TU10B (can be
converted to 20m) are more desirable. TU7B and TU9B
are worth less.
3)The low freq unit TU26B tends to be harder to find,
but not impossible. I would price this unit higher
just based on the higher count of components it
contains.
4) If you have the original cardboard shipping box, I
would add $10-15.
5) Pre-Pearl Harbor units (1941) are much rarer than
the post-Pearl Harbor units (which seem to account for
95% of the units in circulation). The contract number
on the label will give you the date.
6) A complete unit in good condition is obviously
worth more than a harvested unit which is worth only
$10-20. Ham are notorious for salvaging the HV
components from these boxes.
7) For a mint unopened unit in the boxes (CS-48 and
cardboard shipping container), $100+ is reasonable.

I hope this helps !!!

Regards Tino, VE2GCE
