Hi Remi !!
Yes I think you are right a procedure will need to be decided - Joe has now
produced the WSJT 200 fully integrated programme so I guess this will
encourage more people to download it and begin using Meteor Scatter.
WSJT now seems to be so fully embedded in VHF dx operating that I think it
needs
to be presented to National Radio Societies (RSGB VERON etc etc) and
officially
agreed into a band plan Question :- How do we do that ?
I dont know what it is like in other EU countries but 144 SSB activity in
UK is probably
at its lowest level for many years ( apart from contests).
This is because now the " code less " HF 10 watt licence has been
introduced in the UK
with a M3*** call many novice and class B ( vhf only ) operators have gone
to HF.
With activity so low maybe now is the time to look again at the band plan -
are we likely to see activity levels on SSB of the early 1980's in the
future personally I dont think so but I hope
I am wrong.
We would be looking at a plan something like
144.000-035 EME only CW
144.035-099 Mixed EME /Tropo
144.100-126 Random MS HSCW
144.127-150 MS HSCW
144.151-190 JT44 TROPO/ EME
144.191-210 MS SSB Random
144.211-359 SSB MS/TROPO/
144.360-386 WSJT
The reason for 144360 as a wsjt calling frequency is if 370 at 26 channels
it would be a bit
too near the beacon band and to be honest I have not heard anyone above 360
for a loooong time
I have not tried it but will wsjt decode a received signal 1 khz away from
another strong signal
who is on a different 30 sec period ??? I dont know but maybe someone has
tested it.
These are only my own thoughts - with the advent of the wsjt programme it is
possible that we could have many new operators trying out Meteor Scatter for
the first time and this I think is to
be encouraged as much as possible.
Best Regards To All
