Andy,
I need to add 2200 meters to my 6 foot loop. 1649 miles is very impressive.
I think the 100 miles for lowfer TH in 2016 is my record for receiving. Or
at least what I have documented.
I'm currently trying to make a small receiver setup to use for testing my
transmitter remotely. I have actually had some success using a homemade
TL082 J-fet op-amp amplifer. I do have feedback issues at higher gains, but
that may just be my PCB/Wiring. After I get that, I can hopefully get an
idea how my changes affect radiation. I am using a small loop for my
antenna, but ideally I would have some sort of short whip attached to my
truck. Do you know of anyone having any success with something around 2 to
3 feet? I have tried a 3 foot wire connected to a tank circuit, but there
is just not much of a signal on it. I didn't have much of a ground plane
though.. I'm only shooting for 10 - 15 miles away.
I look forward to your findings.
Regards,
John Hamer
