I worked on the mobile receive amplifier and got the feedback issue sorted.
I had a laptop running argo the whole way to work and did successfully
receive my signal at work, 15 miles away, with my 1 foot loop in the back
window of my car. The only thing I need to do now is make an external BFO,
because the one in my handheld radio shack receiver is not stable.
As far as not being able to get 1 watt from my transmitter running from a
12v battery, I think I'm going to change the output filter of my
transmitter to something lower than 50 (maybe 35?) ohms. Then I can use a
different tap on my antenna and should be able to get the full watt. I'll
try and do that this weekend.
