David, Thanks for the additional info. I do have one old crt here which 
is connected to my a WinXP machine. It is however, in the full power off 
state.  I probably miss-identified 40.0. I wish I had done the 
screenshot before switching to the VLF database.

I agree with you about the antenna size. I have a PA0RDT Mini Whip here 
too. I was able to get the noise floor down to a reasonable level on the 
LNV first.
