Bruce -  bit of a cheesy video from a few years back. Just watch common mode noise pickup on internal car wiring. Noise sources vary a heck of a lot car model. I tend to use the pa0rdt probe or lf engineering l400b and can quite safely drive at posted limits. Results have been good with g>w receptions on 136, and dex et al strong from Sw XE. You do gain a bit by increasing height but physically gets more precarious.
