It doesn't matter even if coax feedline. If the ant and feedline are floating above ground the ant and feedline build up high voltages and if lightning is in the area it invites a strike! A simple static drain is all that is needed to eliminate such static buildup. I have open wire here and I leave it connected to my balanced line tuner-however, the center of the tank coil is grounded so the ant and line is at ground potential. If coax fed a static drain coil to ground does the trick-Bob
