[Lowfer] NEW to WSPR having a bit of trouble.

Paul

Glad to see you're still on this reflector!

Same problem here. Was receiving WG2XKA,WG2XIQ and WF2XXQ until WE6XGR showed up. Bob (WE2XGR/6
transmitting as WE6XGR) normally operates 498.000 +1500 (clear frequency) but decided to pay a visit
on 474.200 (WSPR/WSJT-X JT-9 watering hole). Several kW of power into a decent antenna overloads
WSPR/WSJT-X detectors for hundreds of miles ... as you've noticed. At this location I can still make
out the other stations in the waterfall but none of them decode ... normally they would decode with
good signal levels. Bob has no interest in receiving so he runs the transmitter 100% duty cycle ...
further compounding the problem as no time periods are available in which to receive without
overload. Most stations transmit 33 - 50% duty cycles and post spots when they're not transmitting
... that would seem to be the responsible way to operate when in the watering hole. But what do I
know ...
