thanks for the link, got Argo v143 from there, and that did it.
I was running v134 which did not have the soundcard selector and just
went to windows default.

this machine (also win7-64) has 4 different sound cards, I am evaluating
them for digimodes.
my station is a 1 meter loop (about 35 winds which I think must be too
much for 137, 187, 474, 518 kHz) in to a Palomar Engineers VLF converter
(10-500kHz transverted to 4MHz), in to a Yaesu FT-847, thence to a
Diamond Sound Tube (USB)
really not expecting much, the Charming Cottage here is surrounded by
trees and buildings, seems to be an HF black hole, and too noisy for
much VHF or UHF.
