Cliff:  As Dex pointed out; ARGO is " as simple as it gets "
but note..... All except the newest version of ARGO will by
DEFAULT choose the systems " default " Sound/Audio - INPUT
as its source for input audio to ARGO.. You do the choosing
of mic, line, stereo mix, etc to feed audio to ARGO..
The latest version of ARGO which is setup to run as a grabber
if you like, will allow you to choose the input audio from 
the source you want...
