Andy have you tried battery power? Ifyou have computer noise get an old
laptop, one of the quietest
computers Ive used was a IBM 166mhz thinkpad. It will run off 12dc.
they are throwaway items now and can be picked up for next to nothing.
Perfect for ARGO.Common mode hum is a problem with direct conversion
rec, for a couple of simple designs I have, I run them on 12v alarm
batteries. Also search for cfc lamps dimmers , flourescent fixtures
ext. Are you using crt or lcd monitors?
I am in a rural area about 7 miles from Jacksonville, quietest location
I have everhad. Underground utilities help, but I dont have rec
capability of others.
I note I am strong on Ralphs grabber this morning at 11am local time. I
check the KI0LE grabber and it is set on 189.800, thats RM's freq. Note
at top says rec down but time is current. CV is strong into Ralphs
grabber too this AM.
I should have moved to the watering hole sooner. We have mild weather
here this week I should go get the stuff to make a 8 or 10 foot loop.
