[Lowfer] Can too much be too much ??

Hi Paul, and fellow lowfers:

The computer noise is from the onboard video of the MOBO.
I have thought about trying a plug in video card to see if it
helps with the noise. Chances are that it will generate it's
own noise too. I'm using a CRT monitor, I can turn it off,
disconnect the video cable, and unplug it; dosen't make any
difference. I absolutely refuse to use CFL devices in my QTH.
I've had a radio setup at this location since late 2005, and
have just lived with the constant noise that extends beyond
10 meters. Numerous contacts with the power company has made a
difference sometimes, and sometimes not. This area is highly
urbanized, and industrial. High voltage, high tension lines
everywhere you look. It is the noisiest radio location I have
ever lived at, so will likely just have to live with it.

I have an old 366 MHz Toshiba laptop that I plan to use for
transmitting various digital modes in the future, but it can't
handle the load for what I do with the computer.

You're definitely doing better in the wateringhole. I can see
your signal now, where on the other frequency, it was rare
that I saw a trace.

73 to you :::
