[Lowfer] Makeshift lowFER receiving antenna

I didn't mention any names Laurence !! <grin>

Lee, Laurence literally travels all over the world on a regular basis . I 
"think" he is in China right now . He can speak to the quality of this 
antenna virtually under ANY conditions . He lives in Alaska , right now , so 
he can speak to adverse environmental conditions too .

I have to admit I was as big of a skeptic as there is about this antenna . 
However it is pretty much the "standard" for many of our stations that are 
devoted just to listening .

Once I built the antenna , I was a believer , that for the price and 
simplicity , I don't think you can beat it  !!

I have a very nice loop system here , that some day , I will write up , but 
for an omni directional antenna , the loop is rarely used , except for a 
real challenge station and overnight captures .

Somewhere I believe Steve R. did some fairly extensive tests on the antenna 
and they are posted on the net , but I don't know where right off hand , but 
they give you all of the numbers for it .

I am building a second one to use portable .
