I didn't mention any names Laurence !! <grin>
Lee, Laurence literally travels all over the world on a regular basis . I
"think" he is in China right now . He can speak to the quality of this
antenna virtually under ANY conditions . He lives in Alaska , right now , so
he can speak to adverse environmental conditions too .
I have to admit I was as big of a skeptic as there is about this antenna .
However it is pretty much the "standard" for many of our stations that are
devoted just to listening .
Once I built the antenna , I was a believer , that for the price and
simplicity , I don't think you can beat it !!
I have a very nice loop system here , that some day , I will write up , but
for an omni directional antenna , the loop is rarely used , except for a
real challenge station and overnight captures .
Somewhere I believe Steve R. did some fairly extensive tests on the antenna
and they are posted on the net , but I don't know where right off hand , but
they give you all of the numbers for it .
I am building a second one to use portable .
