Fred owns the Ohio Grabber on 600m. I know he keeps an eye on the screen
most evenings. So one night I loaded in a message that said 'Hi
Fred'...didn't take long for him to email me laughing...hi hi
He knew right away who the joker was that night.

How about this idea, WE is quick and simple but can be confusing. How
about I send WEOH with that being a letter O, not the number 'cause I
can't use an Amateur callsign with a Part 5 station. So that way I think
anyone would figure it out real quick who is on the other end of the
keyboard. I'll throw in the long part 5 ID every so often to keep it
legit. Now a question: what is a good code speed for a weak signal? Slow
or fast? How slow or fast? To my ears, 6-9wpm sending a two or 4 letter
message makes it sound like an NDB station minus the carrier.

Thoughts? Ideas? I'm pretty good at ducking for mud slinging...hi hi...

tnx,
Mike
