[Lowfer] Loop Practice ?

Hi Peter,
I'm thinking that there might be problems in the loop balance when one has unterminated turns, and this could cause an unwanted sensitivity to the E-field of the received signal - hence a poor null. An unshielded loop has to be ballanced, capacity-wise, to its surroundings - and this is critical. Perhaps others have tried this and could comment.

Yes, adding large caps. to a 600M loop will electrically lower its freq response. Tapped turns would help raise the inductance for 1650M work but is it a wise design choice? I'd like to avoid high using lots of C for tuning.> > What's the thinking on this loopy issue?> > Peter> _______________________________________________> >From the Lowfer mailing list> Send messages to: Lowfer at mailman.qth.net> To sub/unsub visit: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/lowfer
