I can confirm the distance to Stan's QTH. The XES signal is also 3-4 dB
down there due to the orientation of my xmit loop.
But one small caution here! The attenuator that Stan placed in front of
his receiver attenuates the external signal AND the external noise. So
you can't conclude that he could successfully copy an XES signal 120 dB
weaker at his QTH. My signal would be lost in his local and atmospheric
noise well before that. Tests with Jay at a similar distance have shown
WOLF copy with transmitter powers of 40 to 50 dB below the usual 500
watts. 0.5 nanowatts just ain't gonna make it!
