Thanks Lyle,
It's actually hanging between the floor joists above the radios now.
Originally I wanted to keep the beacon out of the radios rather than the
radios out of the beacon, so I actually run a separate 24v battery plant
just for the Frequency standard and the Beacon. Oh, and I am using the
suggested cable for programming.
I like your idea of changing the symbol clock to speed start up and check
programming changes. I spent a lot of time yesterday waiting to see if I
had done my math right for the characters I use in Hell(not using the
standard set). I assume you just changed the time constant by switching in
or out another resistor (or cap), I'll have to add that.
On another note, I am using some 100 uA meters for RF current, PA current,
and PA voltage. I have a chart to look at to tell me input power. Does
anyone out there know of an easy way to have an analog meter display input
power? I thought about a PIC chip that would A/D the Current and Voltage,
multiply and display but it would be a lot simpler if there was a way to
multiply them with passive components and display on another analog meter.
With all the other projects that need my time I'm looking for something that
would be only slightly more difficult to build than it is to read the chart
hi hi.
