If this thing has been setting around for a while it probably has a lot
of
problems in the switched contacts. Find some good switch cleaner/lub and
open er up and spray it down ,,, allowing it to dry before turning on
Nother point but a late one
For something that has not been turned on for a long time ( if that was
the case ? )
good idea to put it on a Variack and slowly raise the input voltage ( 120
VAC )
do this over several hours if you arent going to monitor the current
drawn. What you
are doing is reforming the Electrolytic caps ,, if needed ,, to keep them
from losing all their smoke
or going bad in other ways
