Got QRSS working on LPT1 port of the laptop with the blown serial port.
Hooray. Here's my plan for tonight. I think there are a couple of other
medfer beacons operating, but I haven't been following the posts closely.
I would like to put my medfer beacon very close to one of the other ones
and probably run QRSS3. What freq do you suggest? I'm going to try using
my TS-940. By using the power and carrier controls, I can reduce power
down to zero watts and run 100 mw out by using my QRP wattmeter. Frequency
readout and stability might be issues. What do you think? My other
option is to run the xtal controled 2N2222 oscillator on aprox. 1695 KHz
where it was NOT heard last year. I have an improved ground system and
tophat for my medfer vertical.
Are any of you willing to listen on QRSS3 tonight? If I get a few
reports, I'll be inspired to get my lowfer beacon running again! And also
do some monitoring!
