>Man... now you got me all bummed out...
Not uncommon for loop neophytes! Ask Mikes S and R about this. <GG> I think
I'm lucky NOT have had the regular class of Ham Antenna Indoctrination 101.
>I may just take a bunch of #12 and make a Fat dipole out of it.

That doesn't seem like 'giving-up' to me!
>I put my LF current probe100turns/100 ohm on the loop to try and measure

Oh Geez; what a riot! That's .2 to .3 Amps worth of loop current when
connect as a TX loop. Can you rotate the loop to null that out while making
TX measurements?
>It must be from the local 610 Khz station.
>1704 will be up for a few days anyway to see what happens.
Didn't see anything last night at 1704k. Can you measure your far-field
radiation? I'm building a down- converter/E-probe for this - which I'm going
to need pretty quick. You see, I need the confidence that "I'm getting out
of the back yard" (Ham term?) before I announce to the world...... That way
it appears that everything from WA land works 100% <G>
