Ya the transmitting loop is interesting as you just can't put it up like a
quarter wave vertical or dipole and trim it to resonance and have it work
awesome without any hardcore knowledge of how it works. Take for example
some nice friendly fellow over the pond that ran a feedline to his loop wire
direct and tuned it from inside his house and then proceeded to say that the
loop is a poor performer. Ha Ha Ha... That is why we need Master Loopers
like Bill to educate us fellows on TX loop theory.

Not uncommon for loop neophytes! Ask Mikes S and R about this. <GG> I think
I'm lucky NOT have had the regular class of Ham Antenna Indoctrination 101.

That doesn't seem like 'giving-up' to me!

Oh Geez; what a riot! That's .2 to .3 Amps worth of loop current when
connect as a TX loop. Can you rotate the loop to null that out while making
TX measurements?

Didn't see anything last night at 1704k. Can you measure your far-field
radiation? I'm building a down- converter/E-probe for this - which I'm going
to need pretty quick. You see, I need the confidence that "I'm getting out
of the back yard" (Ham term?) before I announce to the world...... That way
it appears that everything from WA land works 100% <G>
