Did the original articles address the performance of these antennas from a 
intermodulation resilience standpoint and actually put numbers on this 
performance? (This is the Engineer in me creeping through, again <G>)  Seems 
like there are a zillion active antenna designs out there, including a few 
of my own, and most of them work great - with the exception of resilience to 
strong out-of-band signals - including high noise levels. It would seem that 
with the use of a couple of signal generators and a scope it would be easy 
for us perform a test that would predict the intermod performance for these 
antennas we build/design to fit our varying needs.
