You would have to elevate the wire above ground at least a couple of feet 
and have it shaped in the form of a square - but what's the sense of going 
to this trouble? The inductance of a 50/50 loop is very predictable. Even 
without knowing the inductance the resonant capacity can easily be fould by 
operating the loop as a receiving antenna.

Well, believe it or not, if I had a 100ft tower and an open field I would 
put my money on a vertical. These loops shine the best in a woods 
environment where a vertical suffers significant losses.
