[Logic] Pre-printed Cards and QSL Rates

Right on Hank, I have about 3,000 nice, glossy, commercially printed and =
beautifully designed QSL cards sitting on the shelf, that I don't use =
anymore since I started to run my home designed cards off on my printer, =
using LOGic's report writer.=20

I got no better returns with the commercially printed glossy cards, than =
I now get with my self generated and printed cards using W7NN card =
stock.=20

I have long since stopped wallpapering my shack with cards, did that in =
my teens (50's), the XYL would frown upon that today, enough space being =
taken up with various certificates, paintings, etc.=20

They are now neatly stored in HamStuff by W7NN's indexed card boxes, =
that I got years ago from his predecessor, Mike.

But, OTOH let's not forget, to each his own.

  Lads and Lassies,

  Nice to see there is so much adrenaline left in the amateur radio=20
  community, but I recommend saving some of it for a pileup.

  I have a pretty slick full color card which I buy preprinted about =
three=20
  thousand at a time, and my return rate still sucks. I QSL direct for =
all=20
  new ones and any time I can get more than two band-modes out of a =
single=20
  card. Fully half the green stamps I send get returned via the bureau, =

  which is OK with me as long as I get the card. Twenty five percent =
fall=20
  into the QSL black hole, the exact location of which is being eagerly=20
  sought my virtually every DXer. The remaining quartile of cards are=20
  returned promptly by very courteous operators.

  I have sent XW2A three sets of cards direct, and nada in return. =
Every=20
  time I see him pop up on the cluster in a new country I know I paid =
for his=20
  airline tickets. Oh well, it is just a hobby, right?

  I think the League's logbook of the world project will fix just about=20
  everything I think is broken as a DXer, except for lids and kids.

  73,

  Hank
