[Logic] QSL Card Stock

I recognize the convenience factor, and the ability to update/change station
information with print yourself QSL cards, but the truth still is you cannot
make quality QSL cards at home.
You can make homemade QSL cards, but when I see one, the best comment that
ever comes to mind is.. "hmmm, he rolled his own...not bad"
More often I think...He probably has a rig that cost a couple of grand, and
can't swing some nice cards???
An example that comes to mind is the many STELLAR cards I have received from
JA hams. I open those envelopes and say "Wow!" Often I will have to tell
them how beautiful there card is. They get hung up in the shack.
You might say... The purpose is to confirm the contact...nothing more.
Well, technically that is the case, but realistically, you'd like a return
card.
To all those rolling your own QSL cards....
If you also think your color ink jet does a nice job of printing photos on
photo quality paper, Try downloading an image or two to
www.sendmyphoto.com...
Then, you'll really appreciate your digital camera, and realize that your
color ink jet is not quite what you think it is.

I dont agree Dave. Perhaps, you and Gil have not seen how professional
looking these cards look after they are done. Im not saying that you cant
get a junky looking card from someone who wont take the time to really make
them look great, but most of us using this method will choose graphics and
designs to make those cards look just as professional as preprinted cards.
In the photo mode or laser printers, you wouldnt be able to tell the
difference except for the fact that you'll know it was printed because of
the personalization of the info on the card, which isnt that the purpose?

So beside all that, the purpose of the card really is to confirm that you
worked a particular area for a specific award you are trying to fulfill. And
even if the card I receive dont look as great, It will serve the purpose for
showing conformation of that contact. That gentlemen is the whole purpose
for QSLing, not to see how pretty a card you can get. Hams dont care what
the card looks like, well most hams, I guess it matters to you two, but its
the QSL info that is important to the most of us.

  I fully agree with Gil.
If I get one of those "paper" printer cards, I don't say "nice card!"
I usually think "what a piece of junk"
The Avery or otherwise microperf stuff will lower your return percentage.
