BUNK. BULL. HORSE PUCKEY.
Return rate being lowered by "print-your own" is BALONEY !!
PROVE card stock is THE reason why YOU PERSONALLY have a low return rate.
You guys say:
> Dave, KD2E, says: "The Avery or otherwise microperf stuff will lower your
return percentage"
> Gil, W0MN, says: "A nice card will get a higher return percentage"
Gil, Dave, and anyone else - Put your data on the table, rather than make
what I believe are unfounded comments that cannot be supported by data.
Show me YOUR data for cards YOU have printed on your own and YOU have sent
out.
Be sure to include: your numbers AND how you sent (path
direct/bureau/other; with or without IRCs, SASE, etc.). If you haven't
printed and sent your own and can't submit what has been asked for to
substantiate your comment, then your comment is unfounded BUNK and as such
is worthless and misleading to others on this list!
Stock has nothing to do with it. It's accuracy of data and how you send
that matters! here's proof...
PRINTING YOUR OWN IS OK AND HERE's THE PROOF:
I can demonstrate a high rate of return using my print-on-your-own stock. I
have 12 "outstanding" cards for DXCC which actually distills down to 3 out
of 294, and 8 of the 12 have not even been mailed out by me! Info is from
LOGic 5 progress for DXCC, all bands all modes:
5A Libya - Oct '00 (I have QSL'd Abubaker with 100% success, so I have no
concerns w/ his 5A1A)
9U Burundi - worked June 2, 2002. Mailed direct to mgr following week. This
is too soon to count.
A9 Bahrain - A(JH worked IOTA '99. Unknown mgr, sent via buru; expect 1-2 yr
turn. I need a direct path.
C5 The Gambia - sent Oct'99. Emailed KB2IST May 2002 looking for direct
path.
CE0X San Felix - printed, but I have NOT MAILED
JD-M Minami Torishima - not printed, NOT MAILED
KH1 Baker Howland Is. - printed, but I have NOT MAILED
P5 North Korea - printed, but I have NOT MAILED
S2 Bangladesh - printed, but I have NOT MAILED
T2 Tuvalu - printed, but I have NOT MAILED
TN Congo - printed, but I have NOT MAILED
VP6-D Ducie Is. - printed, but I have NOT MAILED
Results of analysis:
12 needed cards
- 8 cards not sent out, so these get subtracted
- 1 one card was sent out first week this month, so it gets subtracted.
=3 outstanding - sent and waiting for
Have worked 294 entities
Balance is 3/294 = 1%
Stock does not matter outgoing or incoming. Accuracy of data is top of the
list, immediately followed by how you sent it out.
