A Falcon 9 rocket was launched from Vandenberg SFB, Calif. today (February 1) at 3:02 p.m. PST (23:02 UTC).

Observers some 100 statute miles east-southeast of the launch site may have heard more than a sonic boom from the launch. At roughly T+8 minutes they heard a distant rumble. That was followed a few minutes later by the sonic boom and distant rumble. A few minutes after that they heard another distant rumble.
