This afternoon's launch of a Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg SFB, Calif. appears to be on schedule. The following is an update from SpaceX:

"SpaceX is targeting Saturday, February 1 for a Falcon 9 launch of 22 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit from Space Launch Complex 4 East (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. Liftoff is targeted for 3:02 p.m. PT, with backup opportunities available until 6:47 p.m. PT. If needed, additional launch opportunities are also available Sunday, February 2 starting at 2:29 p.m. PT."

Weather permitting, the first few minutes of today's launch should be visible to the unaided eye from as far away as 100 statute miles. Some observers may see this event from much farther distances. For the best view of the launch, use tripod mounted binoculars or a spotting scope. An astronomical telescope using low magnification can also provide an excellent view. Using optical assistance, it is possible to see details in the rocket's flame and the actual rocket at large distances.
