Thanks for your Lafayette experiences!

I have a HE-80, as well. I would not look forward to using it on CW. The 
tuning rate and instability must have really been a challenge!

The Precon is really a great little box. I used mine ahead of a Heathkit 
HR-10 on 10 meters a couple of years ago when the band was open. Really hopped up 
the sensitivity.
