I have a Kenwood D-700 Mounted in my 1998 Ford Ranger. I have a standard
Cab so the back wall is right behind the drivers seat. All I actually did
was set the radio in the tray behind the seat. With all the connections and
stuff, it fits in there snugly enough it doesn't slide around. Seems to work
really well...

Subject: [KYHAM] Mobile install in Ranger
I was wondering if anybody has mounted a dual band mobile in a Ford Ranger
with a separation kit? I have a Yaesu FT-90R and am looking to buy a
separation kit for it and was wondering where the best place to install the
radio is. I was looking at behind the drivers seat using the bracket and
mounting the bracket to the back of the cab. I don't know if this is a good
option or not and how to get the bracket mounted to the cab. Thanks in
advance.
