Mark asked about conversions of PC switching supplies to 12 volt applications.

PC power supply to 12 switcher.

Or one could try putting the  5v outputs from three PC switching supplies 
in series to get 15 volts at a lot of amps.
The grounds of the supplies would have to be isolated. They outputs are 
usually grounded
by one or two traces on the circuit boards to the case.
