[Kenwood] TS 140s Power Adjust

Hello, I imagine this has been thoroughly discussed at some point, but I am using a TS-140S as my main station, and I like to run mostly QRP levels 3-5 watts. My question is: Is there any way whatsoever to control the power output with or (modified) slide control? As I recall, it is a dual 1 k potentiometer, but they make lousy controls for this use.
