Thanks for your reply. I do have the US model so the encoder is build in. last night I found the sometimes the PL works and some time not. The times that it work is after I push some component near VR1.. so it looks like I got some open circuit or cold joint.. - any idea??
BTW is there a way to control the PL amplitude? Because when its work people tell me that can hear it very high in my deviation

The TM231A (US Model) has the subaudible tones built-in. The TSU-6 adds tone squelch. The TM231E (European model) has the 1750 hz burst tone built in instead of the sub-audible tone of the US model.
