[Kenwood] TS-870S HELP

If you just GOT the radio and it is doing this, then possibly someone has 
been in alignment menu....tricky adjustments abound and too many of us try 
to "improve" the rig.

Either way, try these settings:

Is power control set to  full power?

Are you on SSB?

If so, is processor turned on?

Procesor has INPUT AND output adjustments to make.....

First I would turn OFF the processor to take this out of the possibilities.

Meter in ALC? ....In SSB?.....speak into mike to adjust output with mic 
control.

In CW?

Key down and adjust carrier for full output.(assuming power is at full 
output?)

In cw, you adjust carrier control on ALC meter reading......keep it low as 
possible while giving output you desire or key clicks may be present..



After checking this, please let us know what is happening.
