[Kenwood] CW and the TS-820S

After doing a bit of searching on the internet, it looks as though my problem 
is not unique.

First of all, if there is no sidetone, there is no CW. I have no sidetone.

I will check R-39 first. There is also supposed to be a "low ohms" (150?) 
resistor across the key jack. There is none on mine, although the wire to the 
key jack has obviously been unsoldered then resoldered. There was a blob 
of solder on it.
