[Kenwood] MC-50 questions

I have an MC-50 microphone that has an intermittent On/Off switch.

1.  Is this common?
2.  How do you dismantle the microphone to get to the switch?

This microphone looks like it's new so I don't want to mar it up trying to fix 
it.  I thought a little Deoxit might fix the problem.
