[Kenwood] APRS and TH-D7A/G

After using my TH-D7 for several years with APRS, I'm suddenly having issues
receiving APRS reports (never-mind the transmitting or positioning part).

 

I've got the squelch down as low as reasonably possible.  I'm using band A
(144.39). everything is setup as I normally use it.  But I heard beacons.
but the radio doesn't copy them all. maybe about 20% of them.

 

Any thoughts? (I'm about to blast this back to factory and start over).
