[Kenwood] KENWOOD TS850SAT display

1) Could there be other causes than nictone for sligtly yellowish letters on the display of a TS850SAT in otherwise mint condition?
2) The brightness of the display on a TS950SDX is adjustable in the menu. Is there any way of adjusting the brightness on the display of a TS850SAT?
3) Replacing the display might the solution. How tricky is this operation?
