[Kenwood] Adjusting the TS-940

I will bare my soul and plead ignorance.

Looking through the manual on user adjustments I come to the part where you
adjust the digital VFO display.

I'll paraphrase the section as it's a PDF document

MODE to CW and zero-beat to WWV at either 5,10 or 15MHz

Turn on the 100kHz calibrator, if the calibrator is not zero-beat with the
WWV signal, adjust the Standard Oscillator trimmer

Every reference to zero-beating I have found so far on the web revolves
around keying the transmitter, you obviously can't do this in this instance
as it is a blocked frequency and competing with WWV is not stylish. I
truthfully am not sure what I should be listening for.

This is my first HF rig where I had to prepare to transmit, so I am in
unfamiliar territory. I know I am transmitting about 2kHz low from a friend
in town's report when we actually tested on the air.

Anyone have a good link or two or want to point me in the direction I need
to go?
