[Kenwood] TS850 and SB200

One question I've pondered when connecting linears: What does
the exciter see during for the first few milliseconds of
transmission, especially when using VOX or semi-break-in CW.
I guess I've always presumed the manufacturer takes into account
the internal relay's switch time when designing the gear with
these options, but they cannot know the speed of the linear's
relay, and if you then add a second external relay, you add
several more milliseconds during which the exciter is potentially
transmitting into the transition between antenna to linear input.
I suppose it is inconsequential, as modern gear should accomodate
such glitches and no one to my knowlege has ever complained about
their rig being affected by it, but it does seem like you could
be potentially stressing the exciter every time you go into
transmit under such circumstances.
Can anyone speak to this definitively?
