[Kenwood] TS-950S Question

I have a 950SDX, rather than a 950, but these comments may apply..
If you are putting out 200 watts max, rather than 150, there is a pot inside the
radio that needs to be adjusted. The finals are too expensive to risk at 200
watts. While you're at it, there is another pot that may need to be adjusted to
correctly set the high SWR foldback. All of this is in the service manual.
As far as the power ramp-up problem, check the ALC level at 100 watts. If there
is no ALC reading, then the CAR adjustment on the front panel needs to be turned
up until there is some ALC reading.
As far as your comment "There's no VSWR so it shouldn't be foldback", that's not
quite a proper way to say that. What I really think you meant to say was "The
SWR is close to 1:1, so there shouldn't be any foldback".
