that's right, I don't know much about the 950 but I know it's a 150 w. rig.
if ur getting 200 w. out something's wrong. It might be the way u measure
ur power or the rig. I have never owned the 950 so beyond this I can't
help but maybe someone familiar with it will.

I have a TS-950SDX and there's no way I can get 200
watts output, just the rated 150 watts. And varying
the power output is smooth, not the least bit erratic
as what you describe.
I'd say there's something running amok in your radio,
as in imminent self-destruction.
