[Kenwood] TS-930S vfo and memory problem??

I'm just guessing as I don't own one of these but the function you refer to 
is a band stacking register which remembers the frequency you were last on 
on each band...usually there are two per band sometimes more to allow the 
last two or three frequencies you might have used to be remembered..say one 
for ssb the other for cw.  This functionality is usually included on rigs 
with fully digital control systems and I'm not sure the 930S is that 
advanced.  I know my old TS-830 wasn't.  The VFO frequency was part of the 
frequency determining scheme and had no idea what band you were on if it was 
moved it changed the final frequency for any band selected...usually by the 
same amount.

So unless someone else knows for sure that this is not normal for this rig I 
would say it's not broke...just normal for the state of the art back then.
