[Kenwood] TS-930S vfo and memory problem??

I have a TS-930S that I was just given by a friend.  It seems work well 
except
that it does not "remember" the frequency when changing from one band
to another.  Example... I go to the 14 mc band and tune to 14.100 then I 
switch
to the 3.5 band and find the vfo at 3600.  I crank the vfo to 3953, a chance 
of
353 kc.  When I go back to the 14 mc band, I find that the vfo there is 
14.453.
In other words, it got cranked up 353 kc also.  I have replaced the 
batteries
for the memory to no avail.  Is this problem something that I might be able
to repair or should I just resign myself to living with it.
