There is something about "type acceptance" for radios other than amateur
radio.  You may be able to take that specific radio and get it tested and
keep the test results to show that it meets the specs for the service youi
want to use it on, I don't know.  BUT, I do NOT think it is "legal" to use
"any radio" on "any service".  Yes, it may and probably will "work".  That
does NOT make the radio legal for that frequency.  You CAN use other radios
on amateur radio bands (staying within the amateur rules) because the
amateur bands do not require type acceptance.
