[Kenwood] Kenwood TS 440SAT problem

I have a 480 in my car.  I agree the main tuning know takes a lot of turns 
to move up or down the band.  So I generally use the Multi knob to move from 
one end of the band to the other.  I suspect your  main tuning knob is 
working the way it was designed.

My TS 440sat has a problem with the main tuning knob   being vvery slow
I tried  to  change it with ajusting the knob but no help there Is there
a gear ajustment in the VFO assembly? thanks Irv
