[Kenwood] TS-850 RX Level

Hi All,

I am new to the list...

I just bought 2 TS-850's for an SO2R contest station I am building.  Each was bought from a different person.  One RX is hot (5 million series) , and the other RX is about 20-30 dB weaker (6 million series). 

I have read the mods pages and see that there are a few things that may cause a degraded 850 RX.  Before I send off the radio to get fixed (I don't have the expertise and time to diagnose), is there something more basic that could be the problem?

I have checked all the attenuators and other obvious front panel settings.  Is there some menu setting that could cause the RX to be degraded?
