[Kenwood] TS480 scan question update

Hi to all again.  I figured out what I had set wrong, now able to scan the
range I wanted.  However, I have run into another quirk. While scanning the
range, if a signal is detected, the receiver goes right past it without
stopping.  Adjusting the squelch to receive noise also will not stop the
scan.  Never seen this before.  Anyone know the cure?  Thank you for your
