All around best???????

I guess my vote would go to the Kenwood TS-830s with matching accessories.
The receiver in the 830s can HEAR! The rig is easy to load up to most any
antenna and the 6146's are rugged. No power foldback here!

If it had any drawbacks it might be lack of memory positions. But, Kenwood
solved that with the VFO 230 and the DFC 230. The latter being one of the
most stable VFO's I've ever seen.

I own two 830s, one stock and the other with easily reversible INRAD Filter
mods. I prefer the stock one.

And maintenance is still possible by those of us over 60 who don't have SMT
facilities.
